I had both of their cards and i like the premier one better. more worth it.

have used card for four years able to add cash on line able to get bal. on line once you get used to working with a prepaid card this card will work for you.

This card is good for direct deposit and to shop online!

Be very careful with "pending" charges as I used the card to reserve a hotel room. There were so many "pending" holds on my acct and I never received credit for a "pending" charge of $149. The pending charge fell off my acct but they never applied it back to my balance. I called customer service several times and its yet to be rectified. I feel cheated. Please be careful.

I used this for a couple years -- with direct deposit. Would recommend this card. As to the "deposit limit", I had listed this card for direct deposit for my tax refund. I called customer service and the increased deposit amount was fine. The only con is the operators are non-Us based and phone communication can be difficult. It's best to stick with online service.

As a practical matter, these guys do NOT have telephone support. You will never reach a human. You will just stew in phone mail hell. Things seem to work well is you only use the internet. It works. If something goes wrong, you are on your own. I never put more than $100 on it at a time. I only use it for Internet purchases.

Just a word of caution. I used their service for over a year as a premier member utilizing up to 20 loads a month, it was a great way to pay bills if you dont have a bank account. Effective April 1, 2009 they changed their policies and closed my account without telling me stating their policies have changed. Now I can never get a greendot card again due to excessive loads and I am still waiting for that so-called refund for the balance on my card. What's also strange is that I can't use my card, but they have no problem letting me load to a closed account. I know they're not a credit card company, but they're just as shady.... be careful!!

Cauction. I used the Green Dot card for about 3 months for both online purchases and signature purchases outside the U.S. I was doing more than 30 transactions per month. My card was shut down for excessive use. I called and asked for an explaniation and they had no answer when I asked "what is excessive use". Again, the funny thing is that they will let you load to a card that you can not use! for short term use, go for it. If you need to move more than$4000 forget about it ...
